GENERAL PURPOSE

This is a professional planning position, focusing on current planning, comprehensive (long range) planning or special projects planning. While primary responsibilities lie in current planning, the work is not limited exclusively to any one area. Therefore, the position requires a broad range of knowledge and experience in the planning field. Work requires occasional contact with the City Council, and frequent contact with the Planning Commission, City Hearing Examiner and representatives of other City departments and divisions, land developers and their agents, and the general public to provide information and advice on sensitive community issues.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Work is under the general supervision of the Deputy Director of Community Development. Will work independently in public contact, hearing and meeting, and field situations. Will exercise substantial independent judgment regarding project management.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

The position may provide guidance, consultation and indirect supervision of one or more Associate Planners. There may be occasional supervision of planning interns, temporary employees, and oversight of consultants for specific tasks.

 

 

 

6/7/2016CIP Project Engineer

The City of Sammamish Public Works is looking for an energetic, team-oriented and technically strong Project Engineer to manage small to medium size Capital Improvement Projects (CIPs), provide office engineering support on large CIPs, respond to citizen inquiries related to drainage or transportation issues and review development proposals.  The position is responsible for a variety of engineering tasks such as planning, tracking and monitoring contractor progress and invoices; and design and construction inspection of transportation and surface water projects.  This position may also assist with the review of proposed commercial and residential development for traffic impacts, compliance with roadway and drainage standards and facility maintenance and constructability.

 

Because of the small size of the City staff, each employee is expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties as may be required from time to time.  The position reports to the

City Engineer and serves at-will at the pleasure and discretion of the City.

4/27/2016Seasonal Maintenance Workers Stormwater - Up to 4 Months

The City of Sammamish is recruiting for Seasonal Maintenance Workers to work up to four (4) months in the Department of Stormwater.  All employees will be under the supervision of the Infrastructure Maintenance Manager.  Technical and field leadership is provided by the full-time lead Maintenance Workers. 

Because of the small size of the city staff, each staff member is expected to perform a wide range of field duties as may be required from time to time.  This position is eligible to earn overtime for hours worked over forty (40) per workweek.

Works in a team setting under the supervision of the Beach Front Manager and/or the Assistant Beach Front Manager to provide a safe swimming environment for the public.  The work requires excellent communication and customer services skills due to considerable public contact. This position works under the general supervision of the Beach Front Manager and the Assistant Beach Front Manager.

1/20/2016Seasonal Maintenance Workers - Parks (Up to 9 Months)

The City of Sammamish is recruiting for Parks Seasonal Maintenance Workers to work up to nine (9) months.  All employees will be under the supervision of the Infrastructure Maintenance Manager.  Technical and field leadership is provided by the full-time Maintenance Leads and Workers. 

Because of the small size of the city staff, each staff member is expected to perform a wide range of field duties as may be required from time to time. 

This position is eligible to earn overtime for hours worked over forty (40) per workweek.  This position includes medical, dental and vision coverage.
