Married to Susan Gerend, have two grown children; Jennifer who is an Urban Planning professor at Evergreen College, and Jason who is a technical writer at Microsoft.
Has lived on Pine Lake since 1979.
B.S. in Applied Math and Engineering Physics from the University of Wisconsin; M.S. in Physics from the University of Wisconsin; Ph.D. in Astronomy from the University of Washington.
Mostly retired but still helping my wife in real estate brokerage, as well as real estate investments.
Helping the City of Sammamish achieve its vision. On various government related boards including the Puget Sound Regional Council Transportation Policy Board, Association of Washington Cities Board of Directors, Municipal Research Council and the National League of Cities Information Technology and Communications Steering Committee.
I enjoy playing tennis, hiking, biking and reading both non fiction (largely science related) and fiction (mostly science fiction, plus some mystery novels like J.A. Jance, Earl Emerson).
Representing the citizens of Sammamish on the City Council and on regional committees and panels seems to be my major activity.
