This project's purpose is to improve traffic flow and safety for all users of Issaquah-Pine Lake Road from SE 32nd Way to SE Klahanie Blvd. The preliminary design analysis is complete and the recommended improvements include widening to an urban three (3) lane cross section with curb, gutter, sidewalk, bike lanes, landscape strips, center turn lanes and raised landscaped center median in certain locations. The analysis found that intersections at SE 32nd Way and SE Klahanie Blvd could be improved with significant updates. Both roundabout and signal options were evaluated for each, and both the Executive Summary and detailed Traffic Analysis Memo can be found under "Resources" below.
You will also find two videos that show the infrastructure proposal for roundabout and signalized intersection options (InfraWorks), and four videos of traffic simulations (Vissum). These simulations are of the current condition, the year 2035 no-build, and year 2035 build conditions with either roundabouts or signalized intersections at SE 32nd Way and SE Klahanie Blvd. The Outreach Summary includes feedback from residents at both the Community Meeting and Online Open House.
