Transit Fair Helps You Take Advantage of Metro’s Transportation Choices in Sammamish

Release Date: May 02, 2019

Learn about Sammamish Transportation Choices at Transit Fair

The City of Sammamish is teaming-up with King County Metro to bring you a suite of affordable, convenient and easy-to-use transportation choices. Your great options include:

  • Community VanComing later in 2019, Community Van trips can be on days, evenings or weekends. Browse scheduled trips online or contact your local Community Transportation Coordinator to plan trips and rideshare with friends and neighbors.
  • Vanpool—Cut the cost and stress of commuting with Metro’s Vanpool. Fixed groups of five or more people share the ride, on a fixed schedule, from home to work and back. Metro provides vans and volunteer commuter drivers.
  • Community Ride—Instead of a set bus route or schedule, a professional driver picks you up and takes you exactly where you want to go within a set service area. Schedule your trips two hours in advance or up to 30 days before you need a ride.
  • Metro Bus—Hop on the bus and ride with easy connections throughout the region.
  • Transit-GO-Ticket—Buy and use transit tickets on your smart phone; just download the free mobile app. Transit GO Tickets have a two-hour transfer window and are valid on Metro buses, Community Van, Community Ride and other transit services throughout King County.

Be sure to visit the Metro Transit Fair, May 22 from 4 to 8 pm, at the Sammamish Farmer’s Market. Speak with representatives from Metro, Sound Transit, ORCA, ORCA LIFT, ORCA To-Go, and Find Your Freedom ORCA Youth Cards.  City of Sammamish staff will also be in attendance to discuss the City’s first Transportation Master Plan.  Come out and learn more about getting around your community!

Also, check your mailboxes for Metro’s mailer with information and ideas about your transportation choices. You can learn more about travel choices, plus get a FREE tote bag, four Transit GO Tickets worth $11 and a three-day Ticket-2-Ride to try vanpooling.
