Update on Issaquah School District zoning for new schools at Providence Heights

Release Date: January 17, 2020

The Issaquah City Council is scheduled to deliberate on the remainder of its 2019 Comprehensive Plan docket at the January 21, 2020 regular council meeting. What remains to be decided is the designation and zoning for the Issaquah School District’s proposed new elementary and high school to be located at Providence Heights. If the Council’s decision allows the District to move forward, a process begins that includes environmental reviews (SEPAs) where the School District will provide the review; and, site plan reviews and permit issuances from the City of Issaquah. In addition, due to the property location along 228th Avenue NE, Issaquah School District would also be required to apply for Right-of-Way permits from the City of Sammamish for future traffic and roadway modifications.

If you wish to provide comments on the City of Issaquah’s 2019 Comprehensive Plan, including zoning for the elementary and high school, with the City of Issaquah, you may do so here. We will communicate with residents regarding future plans once the Issaquah City Council has made their decision.
