Sammamish City Hall Closure

Release Date: March 20, 2020

Sammamish City Hall is currently closed to the public, due to public health concerns regarding Coronavirus and COVID-19. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we manage the manner in which we provide services.

Permits and Projects

  1. Applications submitted through www.MyBuildingPermit.com will continue to be processed by staff, utilizing existing protocol.
  2. Paper/hardcopy applications will be separately coordinated with staff. Please contact mmarshall@sammamish.us or abaty@sammamish.us for more information.

Inspections

  1. Incoming inspection requests will be processed as we feel safe to proceed, with rescheduling as deemed necessary.  Particular caution is being used for inspections of heated, occupied, interior space. We have low concern with outdoor inspections, inspections of new construction, in-garage inspections (not heated occupied space), although individual inspectors will use their judgement.
  2. We ask that all contractors, applicants, or homeowners remain at least six feet from inspectors during the inspection.
  3. If any inspector feels uncomfortable with the inspection, they will address it with the customer and either cancel or reschedule the inspection.
  4. We will not hand over City devices (iPads, phones, etc) to a customer for an inspection, as we must maintain our separation.
  5. Alternative inspections using Skype and/or Facetime may be an option, based upon functionality and our comfort level at the time. We are working on a protocol for this type of inspection although we recognize its limitations and realize it may be very limited in its application.
  6. If an inspection of an occupied heated space needs to be cancelled due to an unsafe condition (at the discretion of the inspectors), it will need to be re-scheduled to a later date when the current Coronavirus/COVID-19 situation has waned and restrictions put in place by Federal, State, and County Public Health Officials have been lifted.

Thank you,
