The City Manager of the City of Sammamish, Dave Rudat, wrote the following email to staff on extending teleworking until 2021:

Dear Staff,

The City of Sammamish is determined to do all that we can to slow the spread of Covid-19 within our community and our workplace. Our primary mission is to serve the public and we know that we must accomplish this while keeping our employees, and those they come into contact with, safe from this terrible pandemic.

With the Covid-19 case counts rising throughout King County, Governor Inslee has extended stage two of the Safe Start program for our communities. Within the parameters of this mandate from the Governor's office, teleworking remains one of the best tools we have to keep our staff working safely.

The City staff is doing an excellent job continuing to supply service to our citizens, and I am comfortable extending our productive telecommuting program into 2021. This program may be extended again, as none of us can foresee what path Covid-19 prevention, treatment, and recovery will take.

We are all in this together, and I am proud of the work each member of our team continues to do under these difficult circumstances.

Thank you

Dave Rudat
