The most challenging portion of the East Lake Sammamish Trail paving project – known as Segment 2B – is currently in the design phase, with construction anticipated to start in 2018.
As part of their public outreach on the project, King County officials have scheduled a meeting at Sammamish City Hall to provide information and answer questions. The public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 25, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. All stakeholders and interested residents are invited to attend.
Trail Segment 2B, which stretches for 3.6 miles between Southeast 33rd Street and Inglewood Hill Road, is especially challenging because it passes very close to numerous homes. Many residents along the existing gravel trail have expressed great concern about the wider footprint the County wants for the paved version.
In addition to King County officials, the meeting will also be attended by city staff and a number of Sammamish City Councilmembers.
