The City of Sammamish is offering community members a free opportunity to get expert advice on home tree care during the Home Tree Care 101 workshop on Thursday, April 26 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chamber.
The workshop will be led by one of the City’s consulting arborists, Bob Layton, District Manager for American Forest Management and an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist.
A multitude of topics about tree care will be covered, including best management practices for home tree care, how to identify and manage tree disease and native species, and how to select the proper tree for your site. The workshop will end with an “Ask an Arborist” session, during which attendees may ask questions about tree care.
The Home Tree Care 101 workshop is the third public education workshop being offered as part of the City’s development of the Urban Forest Management Plan. More information about the Urban Forest Management Plan is available at http://bit.ly/SammamishUrbanForestPlan, or by contacting David Goodman, Senior Management Analyst, at (425) 295-0534.
