Come by to properly dispose of your hard-to-recycle items and shred any documents taking up space in your home! The event takes place Sunday, September 27, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., at the Eastside Catholic School in Sammamish. This is a joint event hosted in partnership with the City of Sammamish.

Event Details

• No vehicles can enter after 3p.m.
• Please pack your items so they can be removed quickly to accommodate for all vehicles.
• Items that have fees must be paid for in cash only. Be prepared to pay for these items at the event entrance and with exact change.
• Cardboard will be not accepted. Please recycle cardboard in your curbside bin.

Confidential Document Shredding

• Shredding and recycling of confidential paper materials.
• Limit of 4 file-size boxes or 5 bags per vehicle.

Accepted Materials:

STYROFOAM BLOCKS AND PACKING PEANUTS -

• White styrofoam blocks. Packing peanuts (any color).
• Materials must be clean and dry.
• No urethane foam cushions, hot tub covers, expanded polypropylene or foam insulation.
• Expanded polystyrene only. Look for the #6 or EPS inside the recycling symbol.

MATTRESSES

• Mattresses and box springs, any size.
• $35 per mattress and $35 per box spring (cash only).

PROPANE TANKS:

• Residential tanks only. $10 for 5 gallon and $2 for 1 gallon tanks (cash only).

PORCELAIN TOILETS AND SINKS:

• Toilet seats, hardware, and base wax rings must be removed. $25
  (cash only).
  

REFRIDGERATORS/FREEZERS/AIR CONDITIONERS:

• $35 (cash only) will be charged for each refrigerator or freezer.
• $35 (cash only) will be charged for each household air conditioner. Refrigerators or freezers cannot be sealed or contain food. Please be prepared to pay at event entrance.

APPLIANCES AND SCRAP METAL:

• Auto parts, engines and gas lawnmowers (drained of oil and gasoline), appliances, metal lawn chairs, stoves, microwaves, washers & dryers, dishwashers, barbecues, iron, steel, aluminum, brass, copper, and other ferrous and nonferrous metals.
• $5 will be charged for each water heater that still has
  insulation coating (cash only).
• Metals that are insulated, rubber or oil coated, previously or currently contain gas, oil, chemicals, paint, or hazardous materials will not be accepted.
• Light fixture ballasts, and sealed drums will not be accepted.

NO Cardboard: Please recycle cardboard in your curbside recycling bin.

Rain Barrel, Compost, and Worm Bin Sale: 

• To encourage the use of recycled content material and more efficient use of water, the City is offering rain barrels at a huge discount. All items are $30 each. Cash only. 
• In addition, start backyard composting with a compost bin to save resources and money. Composting is a natural process that turns yard waste into rich soil. Yard waste contains mostly water. Once the material decomposes, rich soil is all that’s left.
• Worm bin composting is an efficient way to convert kitchen scraps into nutrient-rich compost for your garden. Simple to assemble and can be stored in or outside.
• Items are made from recycled plastic.
