Needs Assessment Project

The City of Sammamish Health and Human Services Needs Assessment is under-way and public engagement is welcomed and encouraged.

This will be the first community-wide planning effort in regards to health and human services completed by the City of Sammamish.  The Health and Human Services Needs Assessment will help identify the human service needs of the community, related resources available to residents and the resulting gaps existing in Sammamish.  The resulting Implementation Strategy will create a road map for the City to manage the results of the Needs Assessment for the next three to five years.

Since 2015 the City Council has been studying a Needs Assessment for Health and Human Services in the Sammamish community. After thoughtful consideration, the Needs Assessment project was approved in the 2017-18 budget.

On March 21, 2017 Sammamish City Council approved a contract for a Health and Human Services Needs Assessment contract with BERK Consulting.  Sammamish strives to be a sustainable and healthy community where every person is important and where meeting basic human needs is a shared responsibility between individuals and the community.

Public engagement will gather demographic, economic, social and health data through the city’s Virtual Town Hall, Social Media, Focus Groups and interviews among other methods. This information is key in determining health and human services disparities within Sammamish.
