Sammamish and Other Eastside Cities Celebrate Welcoming Week

On September 3, the City of Sammamish, along with the cities of Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond and Issaquah, issued a joint proclamation supporting Welcoming Week across the Eastside from September 13 through 22, 2019. 

Welcoming Week is an annual nationwide event to celebrate the belief that all people, including immigrants, are valued contributors and vital to the success of our communities and our shared future. 

More than 30 events are planned throughout the Eastside bringing all segments of the community together. From potlucks, to discussion groups, to arts and crafts, local governments and community groups are planning multiple ways for community members to meet their neighbors and make connections.

In Sammamish the Library is co-hosting New Neighbor Night with Plateaupians for Peace on Wednesday, September 18, from 6:30 - 8 p.m., and on Thursday, september 19, there will be a Community Coffee Social at the YMCA from 10 - 11:30 a.m.
