Sammamish Names New Deputy City Manager

Sammamish will soon have a new Deputy City Manager. Chip Corder, who is currently the Finance Director/Assistant City Manager at Mercer Island, will be joining the City on Wednesday, October 16.

Mr. Corder brings a wealth of experience to Sammamish; he’s served as the Assistant City Manager at Mercer Island since 2013, overseeing the Public Works Department, Information & Geographic Services Department, Facilities Maintenance Division, and the Capital Improvement Program; and as the Finance Director since 2005.  

Previously, he worked for the City of Kirkland for 10 years as a Financial Analyst, a Senior Financial Analyst, and as the Financial Planning Manager. Prior to Kirkland, Chip worked for the City of Bainbridge Island for four years as the Accounting Manager.

He has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, and Master of Public Administration – both from Brigham Young University.

Mr. Corder lives in North Bend with his wife and two sons; their daughter is currently a senior at WSU in Pullman, WA.
