City Council directs staff to study the Action Alternative

At Tuesday’s meeting, City Council directed staff to study the Action Alternative in the Town Center Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), which looks at 4,000 housing units as part of the evolving Town Center Plan & Code Amendment Project–a step forward in shaping Sammamish’s future.
Like communities across our region, Sammamish is growing. Rather than letting that growth spread without direction, we’re planning thoughtfully—by focusing it in Town Center, we are creating a walkable, vibrant neighborhood with amenities and services that will benefit our entire city.
Town Center is designed to be more than a place to live. It will bring diverse housing options that serve residents through all phases of life, along with mixed-use buildings that welcome long-requested local restaurants, cafés, and entertainment.
Green spaces will expand. A new town square will offer a place to gather, celebrate, and connect—linking to trails, parks, and spaces where the community can come together for the festivals and events you’ve asked for.
This milestone sets the stage for the next phase. Staff will now begin studying the proposed unit count and will return later this year with the final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement and Code Amendments—creating another opportunity for public input through public comment.
