City wins award for Comprehensive Plan

The City was recognized by Futurewise at their 35th Anniversary event with their “Liveable Communities Award” for our work on our 2024 Comprehensive Plan. Futurewise works throughout Washington state to encourage healthy, equitable, and opportunity-rich communities.

The recognition for the 2024 Comprehensive Plan builds upon the hard work of staff, council, and the community. Council approved the City's Comprehensive Plan 7-0 after extensive and complex planning work and community engagement. Thank you to Mayor Karen Howe and Deputy Mayor Amy Lam for joining the ceremony for the presentation of the award.
