Market Update – May 22, 2019

Don’t miss the Transit Fair coming to the Farmer’s Market this week. King County Metro, Sound Transit, ORCA LIFT, ORCA To-Go and Find Your Freedom ORCA Youth Cards will all be there. King County Metro will have a bus parked so kids can hop on & explore. Plus, you can learn how to load your bike on a bus.

PLUS, this is Public Works Week, so Sammamish Public Works will have a front-loader at the Market for the kids (and adults) to sit in, a full-size traffic light to play with, a Kokanee cut out to get photographed in, and our Traffic division will have a PTZ (pan/tilt/zoom) HD camera that citizens can see up close and personal before it gets installed at 8th NE and 242nd Ave NE.

What's at the Market this week? 

  • Early season produce continues to arrive. Marharlika, EF Produce and Ayala Farms will be there with fresh, Washington-grown vegetables.
  • Direct from their family farm, Farm Fresh Northwest will also be selling their all-natural pork and dry aged beef.
  • Two flower farms will have market bouquets, and Accents by Nature is back with plant starters for your vegetable and flowers gardens.
  • Don’t forget small garden tools and knives for sharpening by Wulff Cutlery
  • Bring your questions for the King Co. Master Gardeners.

 

Dinner Options: The Dog Spot , Los Chilangos, Five Hooks Fish Grill, Pompeii Wood Fired Pizza, Panda Dim Sum and Simply Desi.

 

Entertainment: Creekside Marimba Band (4-5:30);. Sorting Hats, formerly Heav’n & Erth (5:45-8).

 

Kids’ Activity:  I Spy Game.

Meet me at the Market!

The Sammamish Farmers Market is located at Sammamish Commons, 801 – 228th Ave SE, and occurs every Wednesday from May through September 25, 2019. Market hours are 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Parking: There is limited parking at City Hall and the library during market hours. Please park at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church. There is a walking path to the market for your convenience.

Dogs: We’d like to remind our customers that NO DOGS are allowed at the Sammamish Farmers Market. As always, guide and service dogs are welcome with their human handlers.
