Winter Weather Continues in Sammamish

Release Date: November 05, 2017

Temperatures are starting to drop and slush is accumulating in some places. According to the National Weather Service, roads will likely be icy for tomorrow morning's commute. Our crews are out plowing and they are ready to apply de-icer when necessary. Please use your best judgment when driving: give extra following distance, turn on your headlights, and stay home or delay your commute if possible.  Wet-looking roads may actually have "black ice" which requires extra caution.

These are three ways to stay informed during winter weather:

  1. Please sign up for City of Sammamish emergency text and email alerts here.
  2. For Issaquah and Lake Washington School Districts as well as Eastside Catholic, sign up for Flash Alerts for up-to-date weather-related school closures and schedule modifications.
  3. For information on winter weather preparedness, including building an emergency kit for your car, please view FEMA's winter storm preparation guide.
