East Sammamish Park field improvements

East Sammamish Park will soon undergo planned upgrades, marking the first major renovation since the park was built in the early 1990s. Construction is expected to start in July and is anticipated to be completed in September. During construction, the pickleball/tennis courts will remain open for public use and parking will be available. However, the playground, shelter, restroom, and multipurpose field will be temporarily closed. Temporary restroom will be provided at the north of the tennis/pickleball courts. 

The improvements will include new synthetic turf infields; minor ADA accessibility upgrades between the fields and the entry area; and resurfacing the batting cages with synthetic turf. These upgrades are designed to improve accessibility and usability of the park while enhancing the overall experience for the community. 

Anticipated Project Timeline: 

  1. Consultant Selection and Project Kickoff: Late Summer 2023 - Fall 2023 (Complete) 

  2. Design, Construction Documents, and Permitting: Fall 2023 - Winter 2025 (Complete) 

  3. Bidding and Council Award: Spring 2026 (Complete) 

  4. Construction on site: Summer 2026 

  5. Field Re-Opening: Fall 2026
