Stay safe during this week's high temperatures
High temperatures are expected in King County over the next two days. As temperatures rise, residents are encouraged to take precautions to protect themselves, their families, and their neighbors from heat-related illness.
Tips for Staying Cool
- Drink plenty of water, even if you don't feel thirsty.
- Spend time in air-conditioned spaces whenever possible.
- Avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.
- Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and apply sunscreen when outdoors.
- Never leave children or pets unattended in a parked vehicle.
- Check in on older adults, neighbors, and others who may be more vulnerable to extreme heat.
