Public Works Code Updates

Project Overview

The City of Sammamish is undertaking a comprehensive update of its Public Works Standards, Right-of-Way (ROW) Code, Stormwater Code, and related guiding documents. The purpose of this update is to align city infrastructure standards with the community’s long-term vision, policy direction, and the latest industry practices. This effort will result in a suite of well-organized, user-friendly documents that provide clear guidance for design, construction, maintenance, and use of the ROW and stormwater systems within the city.

Project Goals

This update will:

  • Deliver comprehensive guidance for public & private infrastructure design and maintenance
  • Offer clear, user-friendly direction for residents, utilities, developers, contractors, and city staff
  • Promote safety, integrity, and sustainability of Sammamish’s infrastructure
  • Improve customer service and operational efficiency
  • Clearly articulate roles, responsibilities, and authority
  • Align local standards with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and current laws
