2026 Pavement Overlays Project

Construction Schedule

Construction began on August 3, 2026, and is anticipated to continue through October 19, 2026. The schedule is highly weather-dependent and may change as construction progresses.

Key anticipated activities include:

• Initial site preparation, utility lowering, and concrete and pavement repairs:

  • August 3–25

• Issaquah-Pine Lake Road SE night work:

  • Pavement planing: August 17–19

  • Asphalt paving: August 20–25

• 212th Avenue SE, SE 8th Street, 223rd Avenue SE, and SE 29th Street:

  • Pavement planing: August 26–September 1

  • Asphalt paving: August 28–September 15

• Utility adjustments, pavement markings, signing, and traffic-loop work:

  • Continuing through October 19

Update 8/12/26:

Project Summary 

The City of Sammamish 2026 Overlays Project will resurface pavement on four streets throughout the City:

• 212^th Avenue SE: from SE 24^th Street to SE 14^th Place, and SE 8^th Street to SE 4^th Street
• Issaquah-Pine Lake Road SE: from 228^th Avenue SE to 234^th Avenue SE
• SE 29^th Street: from 228^th Avenue SE to 226^th Avenue SE
• 223^rd Avenue SE: from SE 20^th Street to the north end of the road

The major items of work include the removal of the top layer of existing asphalt, subbase repairs, the placement of new hot-mix-asphalt pavement, and the installation of new roadway markings. Adjacent pedestrian curb ramps will also be upgraded to meet ADA compliancy.  

This project is part of the City of Sammamish Pavement Management Program, which provides major street maintenance of roadways. This maintenance include street overlays, pavement rehabilitation, curb and sidewalk repair and appropriate Americans with Disabilities (ADA) retrofit work. Pavement overlay projects also replace pavement markings and vehicle detection loops for traffic signals. For more information on the Pavement Management Program, visit the link below.
