East Sammamish Park Field Improvements

Project Overview
The East Sammamish Park Field Improvements Project upgrades two existing baseball infields at East Sammamish Park, a well-used community park originally developed in the early 1990s. The park serves a wide range of users and provides space for youth sports, recreation, and community activities.
This project is guided by the City’s 2020 Athletic Field Study, which identified these ballfields as a priority for improvement. Converting the infields to synthetic turf will increase field capacity, reduce game cancellations, and lower maintenance needs related to field preparation and repairs associated with natural surface infields.
The project is being delivered through a cooperative purchasing contract. Construction is anticipated to take place during the summer months. During construction, the tennis and pickleball courts will remain open; however, ballfields, multipurpose field, play area, shelter, restrooms, and a portion of parking lots will be temporarily closed.
The improvements will include new synthetic turf infields, ADA accessibility upgrades between the fields and the entry area, resurfacing the warning track, and resurfacing the batting cages with synthetic turf. These upgrades are designed to improve accessibility and usability of the park.
