The Town Center Amendment Project is paused until the new City Council is seated and provides staff direction on the City's work plan, which is expected to occur during the City Council Retreat in February 2026.
Key goals of the Town Center Plan updates are to:
create diverse housing choices in Sammamish, including options for younger generations, people who serve the community, and aging residents who want to downsize and stay close to their friends and neighbors
protect the nature of Sammamish's neighborhoods by concentrating growth in the Town Center
bring amenities and services to Sammamish like community gathering spaces, public transit, restaurants, and retail establishments
The City Council has provided direction not only to incorporate a forward-thinking vision of Sammamish into the City's plans, but also to ensure that incentives are in place to bring the vision to life. There will be ongoing analysis of how the incentives are working, as well as continued study and planning for all impacts of growth.
