In July 2022, City Council approved a Resolution committing to establishing a city-wide Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) program.
Since then, staff has launched efforts to ensure DEIB throughout the organization and community.
The goals of the program are to:
- create an equity framework that will shape policies, procedures, and institutional strategies;
- develop and empower employees to be change agents; and
- train elected officials and staff.
The program will be looking to establish partnerships within the community and region to engage on Sammamish-relevant issues.
