National Night Out

Registration is open for the 2026 National Night Out.

National Night Out strengthens the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while restoring a true sense of community. It provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

On Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, neighborhoods throughout the City of Sammamish are invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the 43rd annual “Night Out.” The Sammamish Night Out, in conjunction with National Night Out across America, is designed to:

  • Heighten crime prevention awareness.
  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts.
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit in crime prevention campaigns.
  • Send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back!

National Night Out has been an enjoyable and effective way to promote police/community partnerships for our city.

Participation in Night Out is simple:

  1. At 5 p.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 4, turn on all outside lights. Lights are a visible statement of neighborhood unity against crime.
  1. Between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m., join your neighbors outside for a planned activity. This might include a BBQ, a potluck, an ice cream social, or just walking around and visiting with each other.

If you are interested in registering your block as a participant for the annual city-wide Sammamish Night Out festivities, please register by July 31st, 2026.
