July 1, 2026 Updated Impact Fees
On May 19, 2026, the City Council adopted scaled Parks and Transportation Impact Fees to respond to changes in state law.
The City Council adopted a new code section, SMC 21.06.045 – Impact Fees, through ordinance O2026-595, which will replace the City’s existing impact fee regulations on the effective date of July 1, 2026.
As of July 1, 2026, the City’s Parks and Transportation Impact Fees will be calculated on a per-square-foot basis at the following rates:
Parks Impact Fee - $3.13 per square foot
Minimum fee amount assessed is $2,450.79 or 783 sq ft.
The maximum fee amount assessed is $10,955.00 or 3,500 sq ft.
Transportation Impact Fee - $7.44 per square foot
Minimum fee amount assessed is $5,825.06 or 783 sq ft.
The maximum fee amount assessed is $26,043.91 or 3,500 sq ft.
