Hardscape is any part of a property that is covered by buildings, driveways, walkways, decks, and any other area that is not designed to for the growth of vegetation. Gravel, pavers, and other such quasi-hardened surfaces are considered hardscape.
Hardscape coverage is calculated by dividing the amount of hardscape by the size of the lot.
