The Sustainability Commission is the newest City commission serving as an advisory group to the City Council. The Sustainability Commission provides recommendations on issues relating to sustainability. This includes community engagement and city initiatives related to implementing the adopted Climate Action Plan, the Urban Forest Management Plan, and other recommendations for how the City of Sammamish can reach its environment and sustainability goals. Commissioners are appointed by the City Council for four-year terms that are staggered.

The Commission welcomes and encourages public comment about sustainability initiatives, capital projects, facilities, events, and programs.
